Why are they sending me this and how do they know im botting if it is a fake gm ?

Gms have a special interface that pops up when they contact you, You actually have to click ACCEPT to speak with them.

They do not contact you via whispers.

I got a whisper last night from a guy with the name Blizzardl. said some bs about my account being reported and to log onto some site like *edit* or something. I lol'd as it was a blatantly obvious attempt at phishing for my password. These are always guys trying to steal your account info.

I normally pm them back telling them to eat a di... well you know..
Its all bs spam at hopes someone dumb enough will go to the site they mention to get your account information. Look over it. Like Hack said. There is a special window GM's use to talk to players.

it is a fake what i do is when i get those whispers is hurry up and whisper them and say you fail at life lol

i get these messages at least once a week...i had my account suspended (72 hours) once and claimed i fell for one of these messages to get it overturned...
