Reposition/resize your fishing zone and try from the 1st person view.
 
Is it possible to set it up in the lava pools in cataclysm areas like Mount Hyjal? The shadows in lava are dark so no matter what setting i set the threshold to it ends up recasting endlessly cuz it cant differentiate between those and the bobber i guess...tryna set up a volatile fire farm cuz i need a lot of those lol

Have you tried blue switch?
 
Yep...tried it and got the same result..red one doesnt work cuz it says it found red color in the fishing area

wow, ye, definitely didn't test it in such environments, i barely see the bobber myself 😄 I believe only sound detection might help you in such places.
 
lol yeah...would be nice if i can set that up here...with high level fishing i don't have to wait for lava pools to farm volatile fire...has a pretty good drop rate even without the pools
